Fujifilm GFX ETERNA: Medium Format Cinema Power

Fujifilm has revealed more details about the long-anticipated GFX ETERNA, a medium format cinema camera based on the GFX100 II sensor. It brings serious capabilities to large-format filmmaking:

  • Electronic variable ND filter (ND4 to ND128 / 2–7 stops)

  • Dual card slots: CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II

  • Hot-swappable NP-W235 batteries or DC input with pass-through charging

  • Built-in Frame.io integration for real-time cloud uploads

  • Support for TASCAM XLR handle

  • Dual base ISO at 800 and 3200 in F-Log2

  • 4:3 open gate sensor readout, ideal for tall aspect ratios

Filmmakers already using Fujifilm GFX cameras for video should take note—this system now competes seriously with cinema-grade tools. Scheduled for release in 2025.

DaVinci Resolve 20: AI-Driven Post-Production

Blackmagic Design has launched DaVinci Resolve 20, bringing over 100 new features, with a major focus on AI-powered editing:

  • AI IntelliScript: edit timelines directly from a script

  • AI SmartSwitch: automatic multicam cuts based on dialogue

  • AI Audio Assistant: auto mixing and level balancing

  • AI Set Extender: generate background and set extensions

  • New 3D dome lighting tools for immersive and VR projects

  • Chroma Warp colour correction

  • Safer cut page with overwrite protection

  • Enhanced cloud collaboration via Blackmagic Cloud

As always, DaVinci Resolve 20 is available in a free version, with DaVinci Resolve Studio priced at $295 USD. Available now in public beta.
