Rycote Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit
Rycote Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit
The Rycote Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit provides key elements for recording clean stereo files in the field. Indeed, the ORTF technique is notable for capturing a realistic stereo field, yet folding down to mono quite well should that be necessary in the post-production process; as such, this technique is suitable for use in ENG, broadcast, and other on-location scenarios.
With the items provided in this kit, you can employ this technique on the go without worrying about extraneous cable-born noise, handling noise, or interference from the elements. Another perk, the components used in this kit are relatively lightweight and can be set up quickly.
Included in this kit are an ORTF suspension mount that's suitable for Sennheiser MKH 8000-series microphones, as well as a Connbox for isolating cables and reducing handling noise. You're also given an XLR holder, a boompole adapter, a windscreen that further protects the microphones against noise, and a windjammer for particularly breezy environs. With this kit, all you'll need to get going are the compatible microphones and a recording device.
Rycote XLR Holder Mk II
The Rycote XLR Holder Mk II fits between any 3/8" male threaded boom pole or mic stand and any 3/8" female microphone shock-mount or windshield system. The holder securely grips all XLR connectors, at a set distance from the side of the pole to prevent the XLR plug from becoming unclipped or making noise.
The XLR Holder Mk II is also strong enough to support the fitting of most standard plug-on transmitters. It's made from a metal replacement polymer, developed in the automotive industry for SUV door handles. The material is stiff like a metal, but it also features a rubber additive to reduce brittleness and a UV stabiliser to prevent breakdown in UV light.
Fits between 3/8" male threaded boom pole or mic stand and 3/8" female microphone shock-mount or windshield system.
Stronger Design with Innovative Material.
XLR won't click out (closed clamp).
Can also hold plug-on transmitter.
It is not specific to the boom adapter, so it can be used with other mounts.
Rycote Boom Adapter for Modular Suspension System
The Rycote Boom Adapter will enable the Modular Suspension to be mounted onto boom poles and fish poles. The Boom Adapter features a brass 3/8" female thread for complete integration with the studs located on boom poles. This model boom adapter includes a ratchet style lever handle.
Rycote Connbox CB11 with 2-MZL Detachable Tails to XLR 5M
The Connbox CB11 with 2-MZL Detachable Tails to XLR 5M from Rycote is for connecting microphones to the Rycote Suspension Windshield. It is used to isolate and reduce handling and cable-borne noise when capturing audio to dual microphones mounted to a windshield kit. It features two MZL microphone connectors, two TA3 input connectors to the Connbox and a Neutrik gold XLR 5M connector hardwired to a Mogami star-quad output cable.
Acting as a transition connector and anchor point to the microphone tail, the Connbox is set to work with the microphone when both are fitted in the windshield. When fitted to the windshield the cable is not allowed to touch the internal surface of the basket. The Mogami cable reduces the transmission path of cable-borne noises as well as cable rumble.
This Connbox is suitable for a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040s or 8050s in a WS AC MS Kit or an ORTF Windshield Kit. The MZL tails are detachable from the Connbox.
Isolates and minimises handling and cable-borne noise.
Greatly improves audio quality of recordings.
A ready-to-use solution for providing professional sound recorders the ability to achieve clean, high quality audio recordings.
Rycote Stereo Windshield (Size Code AE)
The standard (basket) windshield shows up to 25dB windnoise attenuation at 35Hz while giving almost no signal attenuation. Adding a Windjammer will give an improvement of some 10dB at LF - 35dB. The attenuation of the Windjammer is approximately 5dB at frequencies above 6kHz although this will increase if it is damp or allowed to get matted. Overall this combination gives the best performance of wideband windnoise reduction against signal attenuation.
Rycote Fitted Microphone Windshield
The Rycote Stereo Windjammer AE 021901 is a fitted, microphone windshield designed to reduce ambient wind noise when used with a wide range of consumer and professional microphones. This model is designed to work with Beyer M130/M160, Schoeps CMC Series without Cut 1, and Sennheiser MKH30/MKH40, MKH20, MKH50 microphones.
