Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD - Sony E Mount

Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD

If you thought the 150-500mm was compact for an ultra-telephoto, wait till you get a load of the Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD. It is a genuinely tiny moisture sealed lens at the other extreme of the focal range. Ideal for Sony’s APSC cameras, the Tamron 11-20mm is an ultra-wide zoom. It’s a pocketable lens at just 86.2mm long and with a diameter of 73mm. Plus, it only weighs 335g – about the same as a medium takeaway coffee! And keep in mind that this is a fast and constant F2.8.

But the true magic happens on the inside of the Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD. It features 12 lens elements in 10 groups, including two precision Glass Molded Aspherical elements for optimal image output. Plus, it features an extra-low dispersion element, two low dispersion elements to guarantee image sharpness and aberration-free outcomes. Finally, the lens element is coasted in a BBAR-G2 finish to prevent flare and ghosting in bright conditions.

Tamron 11-20mm F2.8 Focus Performance

While the Tamron 11-20mm F2.8 does not feature optical image stabilisation, it does support the IBIS of Sony APS-C cameras. It also supports Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF to ensure you capture subjects in crisp focus. Focus performance is enhanced thanks also to the RXD silent stepping motor system. As a result, the silent 11-20mm F/2.8 is an ideal lens for vloggers using Sony’s APS-C cameras.
