The Manfrotto SYMPLA Variable Plate attaches onto an SYMPLA rig, takes on a camera via a lockable quick release plate, and lets the camera be adjusted along three different axes -- longitudinal, lateral and vertical.

Longitudinally, the plate slides up and down SYMPLA rods. Laterally, you would adjust a dial to offset the camera from the plate's centre. And vertically, again by dial, you would align the plate higher and lower. In all three instances, a separate ratchet lever tightens to lock position. The flexibility of three independent axes allows the camera to be set up for different types of shots and allows the viewfinder to be positioned right in front of your eye.

Two 3/8" threads on the underside allow mounting onto a monopod or tripod or onto a video head via a second, optional quick release plate. Easy-Link fittings on the sides of the plate support Magic Arms, light modifiers, lighting units and external monitors.

The Plate is made of durable steel components and is precision-cast in aluminium. It has no hard-to-access screws and requires no tools for fitting or adjustment.

Features:

Attaches onto SYMPLA rigs, monopods, tripods, and video heads

Takes on a camera by quick release plate / adjusts the camera along 3 axes
